Today we'll be taking a look at the SportRack Vista, weather resistant rooftop cargo bag with 13 cubic feet of space, part number SR8106. Now this bag can be installed on your roof rack, in a cargo basket, side rails, or crossbars. This cargo bag allows you to carry luggage and other cargo on the roof of your vehicle and frees up passenger space. You can see it has this nice flap that goes over the zipper, so when your car is all loaded up and you have the zipper closed, this flap is just going to provide additional protection from water, dust and debris from seeping in and damaging the contents of the bag. Now there is a total of eight straps which secure the bag to your roof rack system. This bag is made of a heavy duty, water-resistant nylon. It's going to help keep the contents of the bag nice and dry.

This SportRack Vista has a carrying capacity of 13 cubic feet, a weight capacity of 130 pounds, and its dimensions are 35 inches long by 35 inches wide by 18 inches tall and it comes with a limited lifetime warranty. Now we'll go ahead and show you how to install it. Now directly out of the box I'm just going to unfold it and get it placed up over the crossbars. For today we have our raised side rails here, which is how we going to be installing the bag. So now what we're going to do is with our bag unzipped, we'll go ahead and load up some gear. Now if you we're loading like a larger bag or maybe one big, large suitcase, the bag does open from three sides, you'll be able to fold the top flat over, so basically all you have to do is just place that heavy suitcase up on top of your roof. With it all zipped up, Ill double check to make sure this flap is over our zipper.

So now I went ahead and unbuckled the strap, and I bring this around the side rail of the jeep here, loosen up the strap a little bit, bring it back up, hook it into the buckle. Then we will repeat that process for the other three straps. Then once we get them all in place, then I can go ahead and tighten them down. A neat thing about having the strap system is when the straps are tight, you're pulling it down this way, its going to put down pressure on the gear as well, so its going help prevent your gear from kind of sloshing around, especially if you have any breakable items in the bag. Now depending on how much strap you have extra, you want to try to secure that excess strap as best as your can. And what tends to happen is is the straps will flap around in the wind and cause the straps to fray, and when the straps fray, it basically just reduces the overall lifespan of the strap.

So for the unused straps, for example here at the front, I actually just going to buckle the two together. Again, that is just going to help keep them kind of contained and possibly prevent the buckle from flapping down and coming in contact with the roof of your car. So now that we got our gear loaded up and the bag is nicely secured to the roof, we'll go ahead and take it out for a test drive and show you how it performs.
