China's first self-developed mobile offshore self-installing wellhead oil platform, the Hai Yang Shi You 163, has set sail from Qingdao in east China's Shandong Province on Friday.

The platform is more than 80 meters long, with its deck covering the area of around six standard basketball courts. The 7,000-ton gigantic pack of metal stands high above the sea, being held up by four retractable pillars that are more than 80 meters in length.

The four pillars, with a diameter of 3.5 meters, can stack up to height of the Eiffel Tower, and enable the lifting and lowering of the oil rig when switching between different oil fields.

Designed to operate for 25 years, the platform can operate in waters as deep as 45 meters.

The most significant difference between the Hai Yang Shi You 163 and other oil rigs is its mobile self-installing wellhead. Comparing with the traditional fixed jacket wellheads, the new design has made the oil rig portable and reusable.

Specifically, it only takes a tugboat to move the oil rig to new oil fields, and the high flexibility of the oil platform has won it the nickname "little bee", as it seems like it 'nimbly collects honey from different flowers.'

As China's first product of its kind, the Hai Yang Shi You 163 boasts three independent intellectual property rights and five pioneering achievements in China. The platform will be towed to the Beibu Gulf in south China to carry out its missions.

Its design and successful completion marks a new step of serialized development of offshore engineering equipment developed by China's marginal oil fields.

平台長80多米，平台覆蓋面積約6個標準籃球場。 7,000 噸的巨大金屬包高高聳立在海面上，由四根長度超過 80 米的可伸縮支柱支撐。

直徑3.5米的四根立柱可以疊到埃菲爾鐵塔的高度，在不同油田之間切換時可以實現石油鑽井平台的升降。

該平台的設計使用壽命為 25 年，可在深達 45 米的水域中運行。

海洋石油163與其他石油鑽井平台最顯著的區別在於其移動式自裝井口。與傳統的固定導管架井口相比，新的設計使石油鑽井平台具有便攜性和可重複使用性。

具體來說，將石油鑽井平台移至新油田只需要一艘拖船，而石油平台的高度靈活性為其贏得了“小蜜蜂”的綽號，就像它“從不同的花朵中靈活地採蜜”一樣。

作為中國首款同類產品，海洋石油163擁有三項自主知識產權和五項國內首創成果。該平台將被拖到中國南部的北部灣執行任務。

其設計並順利竣工，標誌著我國邊緣油田海洋工程裝備系列化開發邁上新台階。
