When a pandemic shuts the world down, the students of Messina High School are forced to conduct their lessons and lives on-line. A merry battle of the sexes is played out and love is the prize; until a fledgling romance is sabotaged by a cruel prank, a private picture is shared, and a girl is shamed.

Much Ado In Iso is a contemporary adaptation of William Shakespeare’s ‘Much Ado About Nothing,’ the story told through the guise of an online class. The characters are based on Shakespeare’s 17th century version; their archetypal characteristics and story arcs mirrored, and the original storyline of an innocent girl being wrongly accused and shamed for not being virtuous remains, however the question of who is at fault is re-examined. Although the inspiration for the story is over 400 years old, it is strangely more relevant today than ever. The original plot lends itself perfectly to being explored through a contemporary lens looking at a world where our lives are lived more and more via a screen. Here the temptation to share our innermost thoughts, feelings and intimate moments becomes too great and with the click of a button we expose ourselves and each other.
