In Microsoft Excel, you can automatically insert the current date and time into a cell using built-in functions. Here's how you can do it:

Auto Date:
To insert the current date into a cell and have it update automatically whenever the worksheet is opened or recalculated, you can use the TODAY() function.

Select the cell where you want the date to appear.
Type =TODAY() into the cell and press Enter.
The current date will appear in the selected cell. Whenever you open or recalculate the worksheet, the date will update to the current date.
Auto Time:
Similarly, to insert the current time into a cell and have it update automatically, you can use the NOW() function.

Select the cell where you want the time to appear.
Type =NOW() into the cell and press Enter.
The current date and time will appear in the selected cell. Like with the TODAY() function, the time will update whenever you open or recalculate the worksheet.
Formatting:
By default, Excel may display the date and time as a serial number. You can format the cell to display the date and time in a more readable format.

Select the cell containing the date or time.
Right-click and choose "Format Cells" from the context menu.
In the Format Cells dialog box, select the desired date or time format from the Category list.
Click OK to apply the formatting.
The date and time will only update automatically when the worksheet is recalculated, such as when it is opened or when formulas are changed.
By using these functions, you can ensure that your Excel worksheet always displays the current date and time, providing up-to-date information for your records or calculations.
