WandaVision: 10 Things You Need To Know About Chaos Magic

As revealed in the last few episodes of WandaVision, Wanda was revealed to have created the Hex in Westview through Chaos Magic. This was seen as a huge revelation, and the first mention of it in the MCU. So naturally, some fans may be wondering that this is, and why it’s such a big deal.

Well for starters, it’s an insanely powerful form of magic, which allows its user to completely warp and manipulate the fabric of reality, on a microscopic level. In the show, this is first hinted at when the body armor Monica Rambeau wore in the Hex was completely transformed into 70s attire, but retained the bulletproof durability. This showed that Wanda wasn’t simply casting an illusion but truly rewriting reality!

In the comics, an Elder God known as Chthon first developed this form of black magic long before humans even arrived on Earth. His spells and incantations were brought together in a magical tome called the Darkhold, which you would recognize as being in Agatha Harkness’ possession in the finale!

Chthon himself actually imbued Wanda with his power, in hopes of possessing her as his own human vessel to take over Earth… So, let’s just say her powers are just a tad horrifying.
