My memories of watching Taylor perform that mashup at the Foxborough concert were vivid, but a friend of mine showed me a clip he filmed brought back that memory and man, "august" was more breathtaking to listen to than the studio version. I had the entire song and the bridge of "illicit affairs" memorized when last summer arrived so I took a shot a recording the cover a subsequent time.

I apologize for a neighbor’s dog being noisy in the background. I don’t have control over it so think of this as barking ASMR while the narrator of this song loses their temper over catching their partner cheating on them in their bedroom so I’m glad you could swing by to watch this performance. 😂 I later used it to my advantage when I decided that the dog barking at the end of “august” would be the part I sang the bridge of “illicit affairs” to represent the bottled up anger expressed in the version performed at the Eras Tour.
