Micro Cinema Setup: RED Komodo, DZOFilm Vespid Primes & Litepanels Gemini 1x1 Hard | Filmmaker Week

AdoramaTV partnered together with Director and DP Nick Dabas from New York City. Nick had the opportunity to use a cinema set up using a RED Komodo 6K camera attached with some really small accessories, including DZOFilm Vespid lenses, batteries, and a filtration system, which he felt really helped him out because of how lightweight the setup was which handheld easier. Impressed with the lenses, it gave him the opportunity to have a more compact setup, since he was used to shooting with larger cameras, and was able to maintain control manually.

Nick chose to use the Litepanels Gemini 1x1 Hard and being that they are so portable, DMX controllable, and they only use 200 W of consumption, you can literally plug them into any household socket and you’re ready to go. This light also gives you 5X more punch than the standard 1X1 Soft, which is a big deal especially when you’re filming slow motion.
