Liu Jianchao, minister of the international department of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, emphasized that as a member of the Global South, China has long stood in solidarity with other fellow Global South countries through thick and thin and has been an advocate for and an important player in the South-South cooperation. He said China will stand united with other Global South countries, as always, to shoulder the responsibility and play a role.
