The higher cost of export products & it’s lower quality is making Indian products uncompetitive in the global market.

To solve this problem there is a need for increased use of Latest machinery & technology in the manufacturing process. However high cost of Imported machinery along with high import duties is making this option unviable for small MSME Exporters.

Therefore, the GOI has come up with the Export promotion Capital goods scheme (EPCG Scheme) that allows duty-free import of capital goods/machinery for the production of high-quality goods & services. The main aim of the EPCG Scheme is to improve India’s manufacturing competitiveness.
