Stop Baby Biting While Breastfeeding Fast!

Biting while breastfeeding is stressful. You’re doing an amazing job! Here are a few tips to help stop biting while nursing and continue on with your breastfeeding journey.

🦷 Biting Patterns: Babies tend to bite at the start or end of a feed. Let’s go back to basics and focus on a good latch. When you think baby is done, gently break the seal to prevent bites.

🌡️ Teething Relief: Ask your doctor about infant Tylenol for pain relief, offer cold teething toys, or even frozen breast milk in a silicone feeder. The one shown above is by @haakaausa

🛑 If Biting Happens: Stay calm. Pulling baby off can cause more nipple trauma and screaming can cause a nursing strike! Gently bring baby closer, break the seal, and firmly say, “No, biting hurts Mommy.” Babies catch on very quickly. Wait a few minutes before trying again.
