La Terra ha affrontato 5 cataclismi che hanno spazzato via quasi ogni forma di vita. Alcuni studiosi hanno ricostruito la vita sulla Terra nel corso delle sue cinque estinzioni, le cui condizioni permisero più tardi l'avvento della razza umana.
In questo servizio di Passaggio a Nord Ovest, l'interessantissimo e seguitissimo programma RAI di Alberto Angela (davvero un figlio d'arte!!!), difficile non rimanere attratti dalla spettacolare ricostruzione delle 5 estinzioni di massa sul nostro pianeta. Sembra anche particolarmente significativa in questo inizio decennio che tra pandemia, guerra Ucraino-Russa (nonché il rischio più recente di escalation e guerra in relazione alle tensioni China-Taiwan...), cambiamenti climatici, carestie, cavallette, incendi, mancanza d'acqua e via discorrendo, sta gettando un'ombra sinistra sul futuro delle prossime generazioni in gran parte del pianeta: potremmo intravedere un ulteriore segno premonitore, per gli uomini di potere ma anche per ognuno di noi, in sintonia con il movimento studentesco internazionale Fridays for Future lanciato da Greta Thunberg? Probabilmente sarebbe proprio il caso...

The Earth has faced 5 cataclysms that have wiped out nearly every form of life on it. Some scholars have reconstructed the life on the Earth along its five mass extinctions, the conditions of which allowed more later the advent of the human race.
In this videoclip of Passage to the North West, the very interesting and popular RAI program by Alberto Angela (really a son of art !!!), it is difficult not to be attracted by the spectacular reconstruction of the 5 mass extinctions on our planet. It also seems particularly significant in this first decade that amid pandemics, the Ukrainian-Russian war (as well as the more recent risk of escalation and war relating to the China-Taiwan tensions...), climate changes, famines, grasshoppers, fires, water shortages and so on, is casting a sinister shadow on the future of the next generations in much of the planet: could we see a further warning sign, for men of power but for each of us too, in harmony with the international student movement Fridays for Future launched by Greta Thunberg? That would probably be the case ...
