ہندو ہوں نہ مسلم ہوں
بس کام یہی میں کرتا ہوں
I am neither Hindu nor Muslim,
I simply perform my duties.

سنورے سیاں میری کہانی ؛ چند دنوں کی ہے زندگانی
پہل سیکھو سبق انسانی ؛ بات اِسی پر مرتا ہوں
My beloved, hear my story; life is only a few days long,
First, learn the lesson of humanity; I live and die by this belief.

واحد نے ہے سب کو بنایا ؛ تیری سمجھ میں کچھ نہیں آیا
جس نے بنایا اُس نے مٹایا ؛ راہِ رواں میں رہتا ہوں
The One (God) created everyone; yet you failed to understand,
The One who created also destroys; I walk along the path of life.

مسجد مندر دِلِ کے اَندر ؛ جسمیں ہے رہتا مولا شنکر
دنیا ہے یہ بڑا سمندر ؛ انجان ہو کر تیرتا ہوں
The mosque and the temple are within the heart;
Where resides the Lord, the Creator.
This world is a vast ocean; I swim in it, unaware.

علی محمد شاہ ورد کمایا ؛ رازِ الٰہی دل میں سمایا
جوگی بن کر جگ میں آیا ؛ بس جوگ پکایا کرتا ہوں
I gained the blessing of lord,
The divine secret settled in my heart,
I came into the world as a wandering ascetic;
And I keep nurturing my spiritual quest.
