1.11 was a deceptively large update adding some new features that have SIGNIFIGANTLY changed the game and brought it to where it is today. One of these features is Totems of Undying. I'm sure all of you know about this item, but it holds such significance to the Minecraft Hardcore community! Some more features were:

Woodlands Mansions
Mobs: llamas, Vindicators, Evokers, and Vexes
New Items: Totems, Shulker Boxes, Exploration Maps, and Observers

This update also added Cartographers, Data Packs, and UI Improvements
