The Classic at Damien Platinum Division First Round

Crean Lutheran and Owyhee faced off in the first round of The Classic at Damien Platinum Division.

Both teams were locked at 10-10 until Owhyee went on a 19-2 run for the biggest lead of the game 29-12.

Nicholas Giarrusso did his best to keep the Saints in the ball game hitting 2 big threes and getting others involved cutting the deficit to 10 at the half 36-26.

Crean Lutheran kept chipping away at the lead starting the 2nd half on an 11-0 run capped off by a deep three to take the lead 37-36.

From a possible blowout, Owhyee was not in a tight game with the lead going back and forth. The Storm had a 45-44 lead heading into the final quarter.

Hunter Caplan had a huge 4th quarter scoring 14 of his game high 20 points in the final frame including hitting 2 threes and going 4-4 from the free throw line in crunch time.

Down 3 Owyhee had one final chance to send it into overtime but two decent looks at three didn't go as Crean Lutheran took the win 62-59 and moved on to the quarter-finals. Logan Haustveit led Owyhee with 18 points.
