The Five Aggregates of Self in Buddhism

Описание к видео The Five Aggregates of Self in Buddhism

The Five Aggregates (Skandhas) in Buddhism are an important teaching because it is central to what the Buddha taught! These aggregates are what make up a sentient being (like you), but we are often unaware of their existence. Instead, we believe in "self" or "I", which is an illusionary product of the aggregates. Due to this illusion, we believe we are permanent, unchanging, and independent - which we are not. Due to this illusion, we are delusional and attached to "self" and cling and crave to keep this belief going. This results in Dukkha ("suffering"), the three fires/poisons of greed, anger, and delusion and keeping us trapped in the cycle of rebirth. How do we overcome this? Through meditative concentration just like the Buddha! This can be sitting meditation, focused chanting, etc.
