This is Pat from @plantingwithpat and this is my first video on how to create your very own worm bin! Vermicomposting is the process of utilizing worms, mainly red wriggler worms, to break down and decompose your organic food waste. In the end, these worms will poop out a very beneficial product for your soil and plants called vermicomposting or worm castings!

Vermicomposting is so simple, anyone can do it from a kid to someone who doesn’t even have a yard! I’ve seen people have their bins under their sink or in their rooms!

This video will go over all the basics and provide some helpful tips as well! The two important factors for creating the perfect environment for your works are the temperature and moisture.

You want your bin to be as moist as a WRUNG-OUT SPONGE! This is super important as worms breathe through their skin. You also want to make sure the temperature is around 50-75 degrees Fahrenheit for the most productivity!
