In this interview, Rami Niranjan Desai speaks to Vinod Daniel.

Vinod Daniel has held a number of positions over the years, including Chief Executive Officer and Managing Trustee of the India Vision Institute. However his work on heritage protection has received notable attention and has led him to become the President of the Board of the Centre for Environmental Education and Chief Executive Officer of IndHeritage and the Chairman of the Board for AusHeritage. He was a Board Member of the Australia India Council (1995 – 2011) and Vice Chairman of the International Council of Museums-Committee for Conservation (2008 – 2014).

He has worked on a variety of heritage preservation initiatives in many countries in the Indo-Pacific, South and Southeast Asia, US, Canada and also the Middle East. He was also a part of the Australia India Youth Dialogue. He has become an important voice in advocating the impact of cultural preservation and protection of the symbols of heritage for carrying on strong partnerships between communities.

The recent recognition of his work was in the form of the Social Impact Award at the India Australia Business and Community Award 2023.
