KOSU is waving goodbye to Indigenous affairs reporter Katie Hallum.

Katie started working part-time at KOSU as a student in April 2024 before joining the station full-time covering Indigenous affairs. She is leaving the station to attend law school at the University of Oklahoma, with a focus on American Indian and Indigenous Peoples law.

During her time at KOSU, Katie has covered how Indigenous Oklahomans are overcoming generational trauma, the impact of the McGirt decision and cleanup efforts at the Tar Creek superfund site.

Join us in congratulating Katie on entering law school, and her great work for KOSU! We wish her well in her future career!
