This megastructure was one of the largest concrete constructions built outside of Germany during WW2 and it has an incredible history and story to tell.

We’ve spent a few weeks filming at the five U-Boat facilities in France this summer, including the massive sub base in Bordeaux.
Unlike the others, the Bordeaux bunker is actually inland, and the subs had to travel downriver to reach their hunting grounds in the Atlantic.

In our recent YouTube video - live now - we bring you amazing drone footage of the bunker from above, show you the torpedo storage area, and take you inside its massive cells where U-Boats would operate from during the Second World War.

Bordeaux’s U-Boat pens supported both German and Italian subs, and was the home of the ‘Milch Cows’ - specially constructed U-Boats which supplied subs with torpedoes, food, and fuel while out at sea.

We also reveal what the Allies found inside it when it was captured, and the fate of one of it’s most famous residents...
