Dark Souls is not a game that I would correlate with any ideas of hope, yet that is exactly what I am here today to discuss. In this video, I explore both Dark Souls 1 and 3 (including the Ringed City DLC) and how their narratives and atmospheres are filled with these ideas of hope. I dissect these games, analyse how they are hopeful, and conclude how exactly Miyazaki managed to integrate hope into such a seemingly hopeless environment.
