Описание к видео Korngold, Symphony in F-sharp, op. 40: Kempe, Munich Philharmonic, 1972

Erich Wolfgang Korngold. Symphony in F-sharp, op. 40 ("Dedicated to the memory of Franklin Delano Roosevelt").
Münchner Philharmoniker; Rudolf Kempe, conductor.
Recorded 27 November 1972.
These performers gave the work its concert premiere in Munich on 26 November 1972*, 20 years after Korngold completed it and 15 years after his death. They recorded it the next day for RCA, a recording which last appeared on a Varèse Sarabande CD in 1992 but has been unaccountably out of print and hard to find for many years. The work is having a moment right now thanks to Kirill Petrenko and the Berliner Philharmoniker, who played it in Berlin and on their 2022 tour, an interpretation that may be heard in the BPO’s Digital Concert Hall. I post the Munich recording here in the hope an official re-release is imminent.
[*I must confirm the concert and recording dates—they may each be one day later than given above.]

I. Moderato, ma energico (0:00)
II. Scherzo. Allegro molto [a passage just before the Trio is cut, from third measure after Rehearsal 60 (Eulenburg score) through the fourth measure before Rehearsal 62] (14:11)
III. Adagio. Lento (23:21)
4. Finale. Allegro gaio (38:21)
