This was a very special night. The first time I performed with the man who taught me how to play the oud. I was one of his first students some 43 yrs ago. It was also very special to play with Ara Dinkjian who was also one of John's students. I call John the living legend because he was and still is more than just a top oud player. He was and is a role model for so many young Armenians born in the US that try to find themselves in the Armenian community - John Tarpinian
