Ekla Pathe || A Tribute to Soumitra Chattopadhyay

Probably he was the last of the Mohicans & probably one of the biggest international identities of a quintessential Bengali. The poet, elocutionist, author, painter & above all an actor who is much known for the numerous roles he played - the roles by which he always is identified as. Perhaps it is something unique that could happen with any actor.
Born on 19th January 1935 in Krishnanagar, Nadia, Soumitra Chattopadhyay however grew up in Howrah & later graduated from Kolkata University. He got attracted to acting on stage and was a disciple of the great theatre personality Sisir Bhaduri.
He was introduced to the celluloid world by Sri Satyajit Ray & perhaps played majorly in Ray movies.
Along with his stage & screen performances, Soumitra Chattopadhyay was known for his poetry reading skills as well and was an expert elocutionist.
