Follow-up care is important to ensure that the medical termination is complete or not, and to check the mental and physical status of the patient. So usually we'll be asking a few questions like normal bleeding and cramps are normal after the medical termination of pregnancy, but if it is heavy bleeding or severe pain in the abdomen, those are the alert signs. Then the patient has to come back to the hospital immediately to the ER. Usually follow-up will happen after 2 weeks of the pregnancy by checking the scan to check whether everything is clear or not. We have to do a physical examination of the patient and, if possible blood test also to check Beta HCG. Suppose if the retained products are still there, the patient is having some bleeding issues in those two weeks of post-termination, then we have to offer them a second time medication or else a surgical procedure to ensure that termination is completely done. So we have to check the mental status of the patient. If required, we have to send them to the counsellor. And the contraception advice we have to give, and we have to discuss when they have to resume the physical activity. As a routine, they can resume physical activity within 2–3 days of the medical termination. Not like a gym and all, like more strain and those things they should not take.
