Dual Root Zone Grow Pot Build and Teardown

This video will go over the steps used when building the grow pots I use. Most parts can be purchased from a hardware store.

Some chicken wire fencing -

Cut it to height and circumference of your strainer. I've tried really tall, really short, and in-between with height of fencing - What Ive found.... It doesnt matter, these plants are going to grow!!!
Once you have it cut to size, simply attach with some zip ties. One tip - Keep the head of the tie on the inside of the strainer.

Once the shell is built, I use some weed barrier fabric, cut it to shape, and use a hot glue gun to attach.

I built the pots with minimal physical watering in mind, so I used the 5 gal rez's, and added a float valve, which connects to a larger rez next to the grow tent. The second rez holds 25 gallons of mixed nutes, but I usually fill it with 15 gallons. The plants I grow have shown to typically take up 1.5 gallons of water per day, so one large rez will last me about 1.5 - 2 weeks of no physical watering.

Now the small 5 gallon rez's are always filled with water. The height of the water line is set by your float valve, being that its adjustable.
