The Red Butt Chironomid is a staple Chironomid in lakes of British Columbia. I've have found that these Chironomid's are within the bottom foot of water in lakes, you do not typically see these suspended within the water column like other colors of Chironomid's. If you see fish feeding within a foot of the bottom my guess is the Red Butt Chironomid is going to produce for ya. Try it out and let me know how it works out for ya. Enjoy!
