Animation Professionals React to Disney's D23 Announcements

Disney announced some BIG things at d23 a few weeks ago and as professionals in the entertainment industry working on our own animated series, Among the Others, we wanted to deep dive into our thoughts about the latest news on Disney's upcoming films. Not only did we look at these announcements as fans, but as creatives analyzing the creative decisions behind these new films.

Now there's one thing we have to clarify. MAKING MOVIES IS HARD. And the people working on these Disney projects are geniuses, master craftspeople, LEGENDS even! Remember, nobody ever sets out to make a bad movie or show. But we often forget that a movie being good is miracle to begin with! Think about it, hundreds of creatives, each with their own ideas, personal struggles, workplace conflicts, shortcomings etc.. For a movie to come out good after all of those hurdles is no small feat. I say this to note that we give our reactions and perspectives here with the upmost respect for our peers in this industry.
