Skating legend shares a little gold nugget with us youngins

UPDATE JUNE 2021:
A new documentary, titled "The Kids", premiered this past Friday at the Tribeca Film Festival in New York City and documented what went on behind the scenes during the development and production of the film, and the various directions the 'actors' who filled many of those roles went in during the years following, Harold being one of them. His message rings true more than ever as I watch this video again after seeing this documentary, as the tragic ends both he and co-star Justin Pierce met were, as told firsthand by many of those who were in the original "Kids", largely a result of the way they were exploited and taken advantage of by the director and others involved in production.

But don't take it from me -- you be the judge. The film, directed by Eddie Martin, combines original interviews with some of the original 'kids' (some of whom were also skaters featured in the first "Zoo York Mixtape") and first-hand footage of Harold and his crew during the early-mid 90s through his later years. It's definitely worth a watch, whether you have much of an interest in skateboarding and/or filmmaking or not, and can be streamed on the Tribeca Film Festival website:

UPDATE MAY 2021:
A lot of us remember Harold for "Kids" just as much or more as for his Wu-tastic part in "Zoo York Mixtape" (which to me just epitomizes 90s NYC skateboarding)...I was very stoked to have the privilege of chillin with him that day back in August 2005 and had no idea he would follow in ODB's footsteps only six months later. Experiences like these shaped who I became though, and it's all culminated in writing a TV series called "PIT CREW" which definitely has some "Kids" undertones (the older skater here will be played by NYC pro Rob Campbell).

Yeah, I know this turned into a shameless plug but I randomly checked this video and saw it had over 50k views so I couldn't help myself. The treatment for the show can be found in the link below; my website also has episode scripts...and hasn't been updated in months because I've been swamped. It's looking like casting for the rest of the characters will now be in June but we're definitely drawing closer to going into production, but there's still significant work to do.

As an independent artist I truly appreciate every single bit of support :)
