The Florida Reef Tract is the third largest coral barrier reef system in the world and the only living coral barrier reef in the continental U.S. It spans 350 miles from the Florida Keys to St. Lucie Inlet in Martin County.

Solving the global coral crisis requires scalable and practical systems that are adaptable in a variety of tropical oceanfront locations. A recent scientific advance can give marine organizations and an engaged public the capability to grow resilient corals and to restore degraded reefs. Micro-fragmentation, a technology discovered by Dr. David Vaughan, can stimulate coral tissue to grow at up to 40 times its natural rate.
