The wet cell reactor core has come a long way with the HHO community and has many advantages over dry cell technology. Simple cheap effective and easy to build replace and repair. Simple in design and built under the rules of economics as the cheapest water fuel cell design will always win out when it comes to the price you really can't beat a PVC wet cell and its simplicity. The electrodes inside the reaction core can be made using 316L stainless steel to prevent the anode from rusting away under heavy gas production this type of stainless works well but costs more. The 316L wall plates that i use are not removable and they are getting harder to find the cheap ones out there will still work for fun, but the water will accumulate rust from the anode corrosion during the electrolysis process the harder you run the cell. Carbon rods from batteries will not produce rust in your electrolyte solution but the anode will fall apart over time and must be replaced as it is sacrificial.
