Made for a friend, the anime is Voices of a Distant Star, a one shot OVA created by Makoto Shinkai. The Song is One last battle from Vic Tyler and Leslie Fish off the filk Album "Carmen Miranda's Ghost." Released in 1989.

I had a lot of fun making this video, and it's one I always wanted to revisit. Thanks for the views!
