Intro by June Millington about music, into her song "Brown Like Me"

Описание к видео Intro by June Millington about music, into her song "Brown Like Me"

During the worst part of Covid, we at IMA participated in a virtual fundraiser called GET DOWN WITH YOUR HOMETOWN with other schools in the area. Some of the content was recorded here, and I did an intro about one of the songs in which I talked about music in the Pure sense first, how in a way there is no time when transported through the vehicle of Music. It reached everywhere, in all directions, sometimes with no memory.
In a way, I can say that is how this song came to me: "Brown Like Me." My nephew Lee John shot it, I directed and edited. It's a deep and intense song and I love it so, still and forever. (see? no time. my ardor and loyalty to the song remains!:)) You may have seen it before, but really you can't experience this song and track enough. So many levels!
As I had gone through 3 different therapies for breast cancer, and in fact was in the middle of chemo (the first) when we shot this video, I had to imagine the shots and angles so I could put out and perform for maybe an hour, while Lee shot, and then rest again until I could view and edit. But we did it! I am so proud of the work we did together. (you can see, it's been about a year, and I'm still tired ... but alive!). Please enjoy to the max. xx
