On an enchanting Sunday afternoon, our dynamic vlogging duo, Stuart and Missy, set out for another thrilling adventure. This time, the vibrant Bay of Fundy was their chosen destination, specifically, the charming town of Alma, New Brunswick (NB). Their journey, a mere hour and a half drive from Moncton, was as delightful as the destination, packed with scenic views and the promise of exciting experiences.
Among their first stops in Alma was a beloved restaurant called The Muddy Rudder. This wasn't their maiden voyage to this culinary haven; it held memories of a December 2022 visit with Stuart's father, Dougie, from Ottawa. This past outing added a nostalgic tone to their present-day lunch experience, enhancing the unique charm of this local establishment.
True to form, Stuart chose his standard order - fish and chips. While not a fan of thick batter, he reviewed his $19.00 meal as "It will do". A sentiment expressed not with disappointment but a characteristic Stuart-esque candor. On the other hand, Missy, relishing her usual lobster roll and fries poutined, found her meal worth every penny of the $37.00 plus tax she paid.
As they munched on their meals, the duo acknowledged the slightly higher pricing, a characteristic of Alma, a hotspot for tourists during the summer months. The charming town's buzzing energy and scenic views made every cent worthwhile, adding to the charm and appeal of their adventure.
Once satiated, Stuart and Missy took to the roads of Alma, the air thick with the scent of sea and sights aplenty. Their stroll included visits to various souvenir stands, where they added a vibrant fridge magnet, a memento of Alma, to their growing collection. The couple has a penchant for local novelties, believing each piece carries a part of the place's soul.
The day's adventure also led them to Kelly's Bake Shop, a local favorite renowned for its delectable baked goods. Their purchase? A couple of sticky buns to savor later, promising a sweet ending to their exciting day.
The grand finale of their day trip was a visit to Collin's Lobster Shop. As respected and cherished as it is in New Brunswick, Collin's is a true gem for seafood lovers. Living near the Bay of Fundy and the North Humberland strait off the coast of Shediac, Stuart and Missy have a unique privilege. They get to enjoy the finest lobster, fresh from the waters of New Brunswick, whenever they please. This time, they opted for a few lobsters, a delicious anticipation for their Monday night dinner.
As for the logistics of their trip, the recent carbon tax introduced by the Liberal government did push the gas price to $1.71 a litre. However, thanks to their Hybrid BMW's impressive mileage, their gas expenditure for the round trip from Moncton to Alma was a manageable $25.00.
As our adventurous duo ended their day, their hearts brimmed with the joy of new experiences and the love they share. Each outing of theirs is more than just a trip; it's a new chapter in their journey of exploring the world together. In the grandeur of the Bay of Fundy and the simplicity of Alma, Stuart, and Missy found another unforgettable adventure that they shared with us through their vlog, 'Out N' Aboot.'
In conclusion, each trip Stuart and Missy embark upon transcends the realms of simple vlogging. Their explorations paint vivid narratives of the places they visit, capturing the essence of local life, food, culture, and much more. Each vlog is a testament to their spirit of adventure, curiosity, and love for the world around them. Through their lens, we also taste the unfiltered and authentic world.
