Factorio Train Stations in 3 Levels

Описание к видео Factorio Train Stations in 3 Levels

Level 1: Engineer. To build a train station, you need a few basic materials: trains, rails and fuel. A useful trick in factorio is how items can be chained through different machines. For example, beacons can be chained together to equally distribute modules. The same is possible with trains.

Level 2: Noob. Anyone can catch a train, but it takes a man to be a noob. Noobs don’t know the first thing about managing a rail network, which is where signals come in. Signals are used to customize how your rail system looks. Using different combinations of signals and tracks creates a fun disco effect. They are also useful for troubleshooting. The general rule of thumb for signals is: first just keep adding more chain signals until it eventually works, or remove every single signal and hope that there is never a collision. It is also more Uranium-235 Per Second friendly to have no signals, because that means less entities on the map.

Level 3: Conductor. Once you’ve figured out all the basics of trains, it’s time to go full Thomas, and build a train road. This is a strange concept to wrap your head around, but bear with me. It requires a few more rails than normal, but the pay-off is worth it. All you need to do is lay down a bunch of rails in a perfect column, then rotate it and place it on itself. Then make a row of diagonal rails, and paste that down in the same way. Now you make a series of curved rails in every possible configuration, and paste it down on top of everything else, until you get something that looks like this. Now you can drive a train around like a car. If you run into any dead ends, just copy and paste the entire thing again onto itself upside down. All you have to do is cover the entire playable area with this design, then remove bits of it for your assemblers and miners, and you will never need another signal again. The only drawback is that it will crash your game every time you use it, but I believe it to be worth it.
