What does this mean?

→ The new Domain Authority score incorporates Spam Score and link quality patterns into a machine-learned model set to keep pace with the ever-changing Google algorithm. You'll be able to judge the value of your sites and your work more accurately than ever before.

→ Domain Authority has led the industry for years, but it required a few adjustments to best correspond with advances in the search engines. With this change, we can continue to provide the SEO industry with a leading score to predict ranking potential and show that metric over time accurately.

How could this affect you?

→ You might see some fluctuation in your current and historical scores starting March 5, 2019. While this means you're getting more accurate data, we know it's not easy to communicate these kinds of changes to clients and bosses.

→ The true value of DA will always come from how you compare to your direct competitors (their scores will likely change, too). This update not only allows you to make better decisions for your site, but it will also give you a more accurate representation of a site's ability to rank against others.
