Whether you're new to baking or just looking for a fun cooking activity for kids, this video will guide you step-by-step through the process of making the most delicious sugar cookies. These easy cookies for kids are perfect for holidays, parties, or just a sweet treat to enjoy at home.

👩‍🍳 Ingredients:

1 cup unsalted butter, softened to room temperature (take out of the fridge 1-2 hours before baking!)
1 cup sugar
1 egg
1 tbsp vanilla extract
2 tsp baking powder
3 cups all purpose flour
1/2 tsp salt

👨‍🍳 Instructions:

1. Wash your hands
2. Turn on the oven to 350 degrees (you may need an adult to help you with this step)
3. Cream together the butter and sugar in a stand mixer for 3-5 minutes on medium speed. Scrape down the sides when you're done mixing.
4. Whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt in a bowl
5. Add the egg and the vanilla to the butter mixture. Mix on medium speed until light and fluffy.
6. Add the flour mixture to the butter mixture 1 cup at a time. Mix on low so the flour doesn't exlpode everywhere! (if the dough seems too dry, try adding 1-2tsp of milk)
7. Roll the dough out on a lightly floured surface until flat.
8. Use cookie cutters to make fun shapes!
9. Place on a baking tray lined with parchment paper. Bake for 8 minutes or until cookies are no longer shiny. You don't want the edges to turn brown or they will be too crunchy!
10. Decorate using royal icing, buttercream, or use it to dip in a dessert dip!
