Hello! My name is Yolanda, I’m 21 years old and from Peru. I’ve always loved Korean culture, especially K-dramas.

The first time I watched a historical drama, I was amazed. I loved how—despite the passage of time—Koreans continue to cherish, preserve, and proudly share their traditions.

Among all the dramas I’ve seen, Mr. Queen truly inspired me. That’s why I decided to portray the King and Queen of the Joseon era using the crochet technique. I paid close attention to every detail and did research to ensure cultural accuracy.

The hanbok, especially the women’s hanbok, has always seemed incredibly elegant to me. I was surprised to learn that there are different types of hanbok based on social rank, yet each one is beautiful in its own way.

To complete the scene, I created the King’s throne and included the Ilwol Obongdo painting in the background—a powerful symbol of the era.

I hope my work inspired you, but more than anything, I hope it reflects the deep admiration and respect I feel for Korean culture.
