Cold Frosty Morning Up the Neck - Guitar Lesson

This guitar lesson is on the killer tune "Cold Frosty Morning" and one I think you're really going to enjoy. What I've done here is build my own version up the neck in the "Dorian Mode" and using double stops to give you something fun and challenging to work on. For those of you that don't know this tune, you might want to learn the melody of this before you attempt this version. I've already taught the melody a while back and I'll put a link to that below.

The first half of this tune I play out of the "Dorian Mode" at the fifth fret of the guitar. I demonstrate that scale at the beginning of the lesson so make sure you learn that if you don't already know it. The second half of this lesson I use double stops to try and make it sound almost like Chet Atkins would approach it. He's a hero of mine and one of the best guitar players that ever lived in my humble opinion.

Take your time with this version. The first part is a bit of a finger twister especially if you've never attempted to learn a flatpicking melody up the neck. The second part is not that bad, you just have to memorize some chord shapes. Remember, if I can do it, you can do it. Just be patient and you'll get it in no time.
