Should you play GUILD WARS 2 in 2024?

2023 was a very significant year for Guild Wars 2. ArenaNet decide to change their business model, and in stead of getting an expansion every few years and some filler content, we now get a new expansion roughly every year, with major updates every 3-4 months in between.

This new content pacing has allowed them to provide more consistent updates to the game, and seems to be better for the developers' work-life balance overall. This makes it a great time to (re)consider whether Guild Wars 2 still offers enough content to keep us busy all year.

Instead of asking whether it's worth playing in 2024, I'd rather ask the question who the game is for.
