While titanium doesn't decay, plaque build-up around the implant can cause serious issues. 😱 The fluid around implants isn’t as effective at flushing out bacteria compared to natural teeth, which can lead to inflammation if bacteria take hold.

Here’s what you need to know to keep your implants in top shape:
1. Don’t Skip Brushing! Even though your implant is titanium, plaque can still accumulate and cause problems.
2. Flossing Matters! Use our Flossing 101 technique: For natural teeth, push to one side and go up and down; for implants, go side to side and buff the neck of the implant.
3. Watch for Tenderness: If you notice any tenderness or bleeding, it’s time to get it checked out. Early intervention can prevent bigger issues later.
