Normal life was disrupted in the Itanagar Capital Region (ICR) on Tuesday as business establishments remained closed and only a few vehicles were seen during the 12-hour bandh called jointly by APIYO, IYFA and ANYO. Emergency services, including pharmacies, continued to function. DD News Arunachal teams toured the city.

No incidents of violence were reported. The bandh was called to press demands for the demolition of alleged illegal religious structures, identification and deportation of alleged illegal immigrants, and a ban on weekly markets. The groups said previous appeals to the administration had not been addressed.

Home Minister Mama Natung, campaigning in East Kameng, said his office is open for dialogue but bandhs are not a solution.
