There are many myths surrounding the question of when to attempt pregnancy after miscarriage. Today, we are going to dispel some of these myths.

During pregnancy, high levels of the pregnancy hormone hCG prevent a woman from ovulating. After pregnancy, ovulation will not occur until the hCG levels have dropped sufficiently. Therefore, there is going to be a variable amount of time before a woman can conceive again.

This can be quick or take up to several weeks. The further along a pregnancy was when it was lost, the longer the time it will take for the hCG levels to decrease.

There is no truth to the myth that achieving pregnancy too soon after a miscarriage will increase the chances for another miscarriage. The is also no evidence to say that infertility is more likely after having a miscarriage.
