Turkey has launched the Bayraktar TB-2T drone, equipped with AI, and India is also working on developing AI-based drones, including indigenously developed swarm drones and stealth drones.

Turkey's Bayraktar TB-2T Drone
Turkey has launched a new version of the Bayraktar TB-2 drone, the Bayraktar TB-2T, equipped with AI. This drone features three AI computers that provide terrain-referenced navigation, automatic runway identification, and dynamic flight path adaptation. The Bayraktar TB-2T offers improved performance, leveraging Baykar's previous AI developments as the next generation of the TB2 family.

India's AI-Based Drones
India is also developing AI-based drones, with the Indian Armed Forces currently possessing AI-operated drones. In 2021, the Indian Army showcased 75 indigenously developed swarm drones during the Army Day parade, which are equipped with AI and can target enemy areas without human intervention. The DRDO has developed an indigenous stealth drone, "Ghatak," which is an unmanned combat air vehicle (UCAV). The Indian Army and Air Force also possess AI-based anti-drone systems, which use laser-based systems to jam or destroy enemy drones.

Other Key Facts About India's Drones
India had shown interest in purchasing Turkey's Bayraktar TB2 drones but Turkey instead sold the drones to Pakistan. However, India is currently focused on developing indigenous drones rather than purchasing from other countries. The DRDO is developing the Rustom medium-altitude long-endurance (MALE) unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) family for the Indian Armed Forces.
