L/S of Lord Beaverbrook, Minister of Supply, sat on a platform with officials behind him. A man introduces him and people applaud. He addresses the shop stewards representing the tank builders of the Clyde explaining why he is not satisfied with the number of tanks being produced. He says they are a necessity and we must have more for the battlefront and for security of navy. He says the defence of Russia is very important and gets applause. M/S of the stewards listening. Beaverbrook reads out a telegram from Stalin thanking him for sending the tanks which are now on the front line and getting favourable reports. He sits down and gets applause.
