Management Sterilization
By applying a chemical - Captain / Thiram
Bake - Bake the bed well, alternating between layers of dahaiya and straw.
Seedling nursery
The right time
Sow nursery in mid-March or late August. Before planting, mix 2 g of fungicide like Captan / Thiram per 125 g of seeds.
Thin the seeds so that the spacing between the rows of the nursery is 12 - 15 cm.

Planting depth
Plant the seeds to a depth of 0.5 - 1.0 cm and cover with a thin layer of soil. Then cover the bed with a thin straw-like substance. Water daily.

Cover the nursery to protect it from heavy rain / sun.

Remove mulch after 7 days. Thin the plants in 8 - 10 days. Remove weeds by hand.

It is important to water the nursery sparingly and to expose the plants to more sunlight for a few days before they emerge.

Field preparation
Select a land for cultivation in the previous season which did not cultivate Solanaceae (chilli, brinjal, potato) crops.

After a deep soil excavation, level the ground and prepare the land so that it is well drained.

The gap
80 x 50 cm.

Planting in the field
Moisten the nursery well the day before the plants emerge.

Nursery seedlings should be transplanted in 14-21 days. Remove and transplant in the evening.

Apply organic manure to each planting hole. (6-12 tons per hectare) Plant in flat beds or high beds. If the plants are exposed to excessive sunlight, cover them until the roots of the plants grow. Fertilizer application

2 - 3 days before planting in prepared pits apply organic manure and chemical fertilizer as basic fertilizer and mix with soil About 10 tons of chicken manure per hectare can be applied as organic manure. Apply 220 kg of Trinity Super Phosphate per hectare for Badulla District.
Water supply
Provide adequate water to the crop. It is not advisable to apply too much water. Especially after a dry season, if too much water is applied, the fruits may explode.

Management Weed control
Do this at 3 and 6 weeks after planting.

Support planting
To prevent the trees from falling, carefully place the trees on the poles planted near the trees before flowering. Insect control
