"Europe needs to protect it's workers. You cannot throw workers in the arena of globalisation without any protection. We need more regulation to secure the right for workers because if we don't do so then we will have the same election results like we have seen this morning in the United States. We must protect the workers."

STORYLINE:
Thousands of European steel workers took to the streets of Brussels on Wednesday to demand job protection and better efforts to secure a future for their industry in Europe.
Protesters carrying banners and coloured flares marched past European institutions.
Luc Triangle, General Secretary of march organiser industriAll Europe, warned that if Europe didn't take care of its workers and introduce better regulation it risked election results such as those in the United States.
According to his organisation, employment in the European steel sector is at an all-time low with many uncertainties still looming.
Protesters also criticised so-called "dumping", calling for steel to be traded at fair and undistorted prices.
