It was the kind of discovery that changes families forever — and it all began with a woman named Shauna Roy, a devoted mother, a loving friend, and a beacon of kindness whose light was tragically extinguished.

Born in 1982 in Saginaw, Michigan, Shauna grew up surrounded by love in a close-knit family. The youngest of three children, she was known for her bright spirit and a natural drive to help others. From a young age, she was deeply involved in her community — cheerleading squad, student council, and always the friend who lifted others up when they were struggling.

Shawna’s dreams were never small. After graduating from Saginaw High School in 2000, she enrolled at Delta College, where she studied caregiving and social work. Her ultimate goal was to open an adult foster care facility — a safe, welcoming place where vulnerable people could receive care and compassion.

She didn’t just dream about helping people; she worked tirelessly toward it. Shauna graduated from Dorsey Medical School in 2013, later working as a production operator at Nextier Automotive in Auburn Hills. She took great pride in her work and her ability to provide stability for her two beloved children.
