Meridian Mining UK S aims to become the next mid-tier copper developer and producer in Brazil with its focus on the development of its Cabaçal copper-gold-silver project located in the state of Mato Grosso. The Cabaçal copper-gold-silver project is an advanced-stage district-scale VMS deposit, which was discovered in 1983 by BP Minerals. The deposit contains broad zones of coalescing Cu-Au mineralization which starts close to the surface and is open at a depth of 175 m whilst extending 2,000 m along the strike.

The company announced on the 30th of December 2022, that it had concluded with a brokered private placement it announced on the 28th of November 2022. The gross proceeds of the private placement amounted to approximately CAD$ 5.86 million towards the company. The private placement consisted of the sale of approximately 16.7 million common shares of the company at CAD$ 0.35 per common share. The proceeds of the private placement will be implemented by the company towards the completion of a preliminary economic assessment of the Cabaçal copper-gold-silver project which it aims to publish at the start of Q2 2023. The proceeds will also be implemented towards various exploration initiatives and a property payment pursuant to the purchase agreement of the Cabaçal copper-gold-silver project.

The company further announced on the 10th of January 2023, that it had been granted the exploration license for the Álamo exploration title. The exploration title hosts some of the largest exploration targets at the Cabaçal copper-gold-silver project. The company also released assay results from its infill drilling initiatives, which have been able to further define strong coherent layers of high‐grade gold, copper and silver mineralization, strengthening the project’s open-pit potential.
