Halcyon 6 is another game like Star Renegades, really well made and worthy of the time and attention it takes to play. It's just entertaining, each of the officers has space and ground combat abilities, skills trees based on class, there is the nice touch of both space combat and ground combat away missions, and all of it is set in a Star-trek like atmosphere. Each turn feels busy and there is a lot to manage, part of the fun comes from realizing you haven't managed your recourses properly, and you are out of fuel but a new faction is headed towards your starbase and an invading alien fleet is moving towards your ships. There is a nice balance between exploration, research management, tech and skill trees, factions, and the best part - classic RPG space ship combat. When I first picked up Halcyon 6 I made some progress, but didn't see the end game. This time, we're going the distance.
