This is the gaming footage of the Doom wad "Doom Reinforced Original Mapset" playing with Doom mod "Guncaster" version 4.1 and other mods combined on GZDoom4.14.2.


Doom Reinforced Original Mapset is a 10-Map doom wad made by William Miller (a.k.a. Zanieon, the author of MMDCXIV). Doom Reinforced Original Mapset was the original that Zanieon created for Doom Reinforced, yet due to its reboot, these maps will not appear anymore in the new Doom Reinforced. However, Zanieon converted them to Oldschool type with minimal resource needed to make them playable with any other gameplay mods.

Some details about Doom Reinforced Original Mapset:
◆ 10maps varying from the development time of the mod between 2008-2010.

◆ The maps may look strange on detailing because the author originally used models to detail certain parts and due to the fact of vanilla compatibility, the author removed them all.

◆ The first and last maps are intended for OpenGL, but are still software compatible.

◆ These maps are compatible with any gameplay mod.

◆ It was supposed to have music yet got removed.

◆ Maps are designed for cooperative, so even singleplayer will allow respawning.

◆ Jump and Crouch are allowed to play them correctly.

◆ Maps are intended to play with sv_aircontrol on 0.25.


One day, I found a link to Doom Reinforced Original Mapset in MMDCXIV’s thread on Doomworld. As the author says, MMDCXIV is to reimagine the very first map he had ever created for Doom, utilizing his skills at the time. So I decided to give it a try. It’s not a long run, yet it’s enough to kill time while prepping something for other projects.
